The History of Pasadena Waterfront Restaurant, Church Point
Originally opened in 1935, the Pasadena Roadhouse was built to cater for locals, offshore residents and tourists.
The original site included a post office, general store, garage, and boat-shed, and on the first floor, a dance hall ballroom was built. The ballroom became popular for Saturday night big band dances and community fundraising events.
In the early 1960s, Pasadena was remodelled to become a boutique hotel with 13 guest rooms and a 2-bedroom apartment upstairs, and a restaurant and events centre downstairs.

If you’ve ever imagined a wedding with island views and a Californian vibe, this is the place for you. With its built-in aisle, towering palm trees and crystal-clear water, you can enjoy a destination wedding experience while still staying close to home.
After completing your outdoor ceremony surrounded by family and friends, your guests need only to step a few feet into the interior areas for your reception. The restaurant can be configured in a variety of layouts, although our favourite is long tables with white Bentwood chairs, white florals and neutral accents.
Wedding photography opportunities abound at Pasadena with a waterfront lawn, private jetty, tree shaded walkway and easy access to watercraft for stylish boat shots.
Don’t forget that for the full end-to-end Pasadena experience, you can get ready in one of the upstairs suites and then wander back to your room once the party is over.
